Save money by ordering Tier 4 Interim-certified generator sets now

Cody Albertus

Beginning January 1, 2015, the EPA will require Tier 4 Final-certified generator sets for all non-emergency installations. To meet Tier 4 Final certification standards, generator sets must have a diesel particulate filter (DPF), which adds to the cost of the generator. Due to the cost of this additional component, Tier 4 Final generator sets are more expensive than Tier 4 Interim.

Our final order date for the Tier 4 Interim generator sets will be announced soon. Ordering Tier 4 Interim generators now will significantly reduce upfront cost. Consulting engineers and electrical contractors can offer their clients significant savings by specifying Tier 4 Interim generators now.

Now is the time to consider purchasing a Tier 4 Interim-certified generator set for non-emergency applications, to avoid paying more for a Tier 4 Final-certified generator later. Cummins is the only manufacturer to offer both Tier 4 Interim and Tier 4 Final options across the entire range of 680-2750 kW generator sets.
